Charles Buddy Fisher

February 15, 1938 ~ September 15, 2020

Charles Buddy Fisher (known as Bud to some, Charlie to most) of Marietta passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020. Charlie was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 15, 1938 to the late Charles Emil Fisher and the late Mary Ellen Fisher. After graduating from Niles Township High School (Skokie, IL) in 1955, Charlie followed in his father’s footsteps for the next several years growing large retail/grocery store chains, including Jewel in Chicago, IL. He later moved his young family to Massachusetts where he continued to pursue his love for the retail business. After settling in Marietta, GA, Charlie spent his last 20 years of employment in management within the automobile industry. Once fully retired, Charlie completely dedicated his life to his family. He travelled with his wife to attend weddings, graduations, and birthdays all over the country. They enjoyed cruises, overseas vacations, The Strawberry Festival in Florida, and of course Las Vegas, NV. He was a fan of the Atlanta Braves and rarely missed a home game. When not traveling, he enjoyed fine dining, the theater, and bowling. Charlie’s most favorite gatherings with his family and friends were the ones held in his home. Whether you visited once or several times a year, it was clear where the “heart of the house” was located. The one room where laughter, hugs, singing, pool playing, beverages, and music was found. The one room where Charlie proved to be the most gracious host and world’s greatest bartender. The one-of-a-kind room that always brought a smile to others and was his pride and joy…”The Budweiser Room.” He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Rosemarie Fisher; his sons, Charles E. Fisher, Retired Lt. Col. Richard A. Fisher (Terry), and Robert B. Fisher (Linda); his sister, Betty Lou Juern (Ronald); his brother-in-law, Richard Olivolo (Josy); his grandchildren, Michelle McNabb, Charles Fisher (Meagan), Craig Fisher (Trista); Chris Fisher (Marissa), Corey Fisher (Katrina); great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and dear friends. Services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2020 in the Columbarium at Southern Cremations & Funerals at Cheatham Hill, 1861 Dallas Hwy., Marietta, GA 30064 with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Troy Hall officiating. Entombment will follow in Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Garden Mausoleum.
