Darlene C. Hicks, 82, of Cherokee County, went to be with her Lord Jesus on November 23rd, 2017 in Rome, Georgia. A Graveside will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 starting at 11:30 a.m. at Sothern Cremations and Funerals at Cheatham Hills. Darlene Mills was born in Clara, Mississippi to Luke and Irma Mills on December 15, 1934. She was married to Roland T. Clary, Jr. from July 3rd, 1958 to October 15, 1994. She was a wife and homemaker for several years but later worked at a Savings and Loan Company and was often commended for her strong work ethic. She married Cecil Curtis Hicks on December 31st, 1994. She and Cecil enjoyed traveling out west and spending time with family. Darlene accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age and enjoyed reading the Word, as well as being active in the Church, especially the Women's Mission Organizations. She is survived by her Daughters, Jackie Harmon and Vickie Ostell; Sister, Marlene Cooper; Grandchildren, Jeremy Harmon, Jason Harmon, Jamie Evans, Wes Ostell, Ellyn Ostell, and 12 Great Grandchildren.

    She was truly a “Great-Christian Lady”, whose friendship I treasured.

    We have enjoyed some fun times together, long conversations and long days of working together.

    One thing was always ever present in her heart her Love for her God and her Family.

    She was blessed with a beautiful family that she loved and who in returned loved her.
