The last few years she came to my house and played with my cats. I saw a happy sister that I loved. We had a good time together.

Darlene Hanks, 95, of Peoria, Illinois, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 28, 2026, at Abbey Hospice. She was born on October 8, 1930, in Peoria, Illinois.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and her grandchildren.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Lois Brockett, Judy Swanson, and Sharon Sharpe; her daughter, Michelle (Stuart) Spears; her sons, Michael Rhodes, Douglas (Regina) Rhodes, and Darren (Keri) Rhodes; as well as 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Throughout her life, Darlene enjoyed many hobbies and activities. In her younger years, she especially loved softball, bowling, and golfing. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing, antique shopping, and collecting elephant memorabilia later in life.
Darlene will be remembered for the life she lived, the memories she created, and the family she leaves behind. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Trudi Pealer Pedroso Darlene, a very true and loving friend. She gave of herself, her family helped me in time of needs. I will truly remember her; in all she gave for me and my family.
