David Richard Todd

October 9, 1967 ~ November 8, 2020

David R. Todd died a little after 8:30PM on Sunday, November 8, 2020. He was with his wife at Northside Hospital receiving chemo for his ongoing battle with cancer. His funeral service will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, February 13th at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Columbarium located at 1861 Dallas Highway, Marietta, GA, 30064. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the service hour. David was born on October 9, 1967, to Clutha and Larry Todd. Shortly after David's birth, his father, an Air Force pilot, was shot down over Vietnam and is considered missing in action. David was raised by his mother, grandparents, and aunts and uncles, and later by his stepfather, Henry Napier. David grew up in Snellville with his sisters, Jenny and Elizabeth Napier. He loved skiing and fishing, camping and hiking through the woods. On January 22, 2005, David married Bella Azucena Rosales-Juarez. Together, they had three children – Sebastian, 14, Ethan, 7, and Mia, 5. David loved spending time with his family, whether they were building swing sets in the backyard, climbing Stone Mountain, exploring trails around North Georgia or just relaxing at home on movie night. (He also enjoyed sneaking out with Sebastian late at night for the occasional junk food run while Bella was asleep!) David, a lover of practical jokes and off-color humor, never knew a stranger. He instantly connected to anyone he met and was always ready to lend a helping hand or shoulder to cry on. Because of COVID, David was separated from his family during the last months of his life. Despite this, David made friends with the hospital workers and made lasting impressions on all those he met. Perhaps Stephen, who kept David company while he straightened his room every day, said it best: “Mr. Todd was one of the kindest souls I ever met, and he will be sorely missed.” David is survived by his wife, Bella, and three children, Sebastian, Ethan, and Mia. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I remember a long bike ride David and I did together a few years ago. It was cold (maybe rainy?) and early at the start, but we quickly settled into a great time just spending some hours chatting and not chatting and sharing a day together outside. I always figured we’d get around to doing it again, and I’m sorry we didn’t. I loved my brother-in-law and feel honored to have his family in my life 💚

  2. Rainy days were his favorites. It was the only time that he would not be out and about doing stuff trying to find something to do. Even in his sickest days he would still get up and do stuff.

  3. To Bella, Sabby, E, and Mia, I love you all. Love, Izzy

  4. Jonathan and Janel Napier says:

You will always be missed Uncle Dave.

  5. I remember Dave used to play flashlight tag with us kids in the neighborhood. He would always wear hiking boots, a strange choice, but it was always fun to have him play. He was there when I first learned to ride a bike, helped me discover system of a down, helped me through two injuries requiring stitches and was always available for a good laugh. He will always be missed and I will always remember the good times.
