Debbie Chitwood Cochran

Debbie Annette Cochran, age 68, of Newnan, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on March 23, 1958, Debbie was the beloved daughter of the late Louise and Luther Chitwood. She was a proud student of Fayette County High School, Class of 1976, and dedicated many years of service to the Coweta County School System before retiring.

Debbie was a woman with a vibrant spirit and a heart full of love. She was known for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. A faithful Baptist, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially crafting, spending time with loved ones, and caring for animals. Debbie was a lifelong hippie at heart, a devoted fan of The Allman Brothers Band, and someone who could always bring laughter and light into any gathering. She was truly the life of the party and one of a kind.

Those who knew Debbie will remember her as a nurturing and loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her strength and determination made her the rock of her family, and her generous spirit touched countless lives.

She is survived by her daughters, Dallas Cochran and Sierra Cochran; her brother, Ronnie Chitwood; her niece, Leslie Chitwood; her beloved dog, Sugar; and a host of extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory forever.

In addition to her parents, Louise and Luther Chitwood, Debbie was preceded in death by her nephew, Dylan Chitwood.

Though her presence will be deeply missed, Debbie’s love, laughter, and enduring strength will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
