Nuggets of WisdomThere is the Beautiful Bride-to-be headed to meet her prince…And it was a beautiful annointed wedding!!! SynDee, when I was looking through all of the pictures I couldn’t help but remember the day before…you know with all of our “fabulous planning”. I think I was running out to get your wedding shoes just before the store closed – I just made it before the gates came down. Oh but that wasn’t it, there were a few minor items that still needed to be done…like the programs. Your dear mom, having arrived from Georgia to NYC to celebrate your most special day, was trying to make heads or tails of all that still needed to be done and of course was wondering if we had lost our minds – She was shocked when we went down the list. You might remember better and I can’t specifically remember what she said, but I think it was a cross between a lecture on us growing up and getting it together and something about the last minute craziness in the form of “nuggets of wisdom”. It just tickled me when I thought about it, because that was over 10 years ago and when you are a young adult, you often think your way is the right way – but as they say, hinds sight is 20/20…All that craziness was a bunch of fun – quite an adreneline rush, but now, I think we can both say that she was right, there’s always room for a little polishing…and that was your mom she was not afraid to say so.
Dear SynDee and family our heart goes out to you all during this time of loss. Your mom planted many seeds into her children which will grow and produce long after she has gone. She was truly a Steel Magnolia – A picture of grace and strength and her love for her family was so evident in the way that she lived. May God continue to lovingly wrap His arms around you and grant you comfort for the days ahead. She has finished her course well and as you trust Him, God will give you the strength to do the same. We love you and are continuing to pray for you.
My sympathies are with the Mayes Family and I cannot find the words to express how great my sorrow is for your lost. May your memories and blessings be forever sketched in your mind for having a beloved Mother. I remembered how beautiful and accepting she was when I met her. Thank you for allowing me a glimpse into your family.
My prayers go out for my friend SynDee and her family on the loss of this beautiful woman of God. I really enjoyed the times I spent with SynDee and her Mom. She was such an example of grace and strength and faith. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten. I pray that the upcoming services will be a lasting example of honoring her life. Love you. Stay strong and Blessed.
