Derek Michael Dickerson, age 48, of 13055 Hamilton Road, Palmetto, GA passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Dickerson was the son of the late William Michael Dickerson. Mr. Dickerson is survived by his mother, Truella E. Dickerson and 2 sisters. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. I only learned of Derek’s passing well afterward, but just wanted to write a few words to say how sorry I was to hear of it. Derek and I worked together in Atlanta in the late 80’s, and he was always a joy to work with, as well as a loyal friend. I always thought the world of him! He had a wonderful sense of humor, an easy smile, and was just a very kind and decent human being. I’ve thought of Derek frequently over the years, and am just really sorry that we didn’t keep in touch. Truly sad to know of his passing.
I am saddened to hear about Derek. I remember him as a classmate in school. He was always a happy, pleasant person. I know he will be missed by everyone that his life has touched. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time.
Ah Derek. It broke my heart when I heard about your passing.. I have wonderful memories of the cute, quiet sweet guy who was ALWAYS nice to me… Heaven has gained another special angel. My thoughts and prayers are with the family:) stay strong !!
