Diane Elise Bragg Gosa died peacefully on October 4, 2019 in Marietta, Georgia after a short illness. Diane was born in Auburn, Alabama on April 27, 1951. Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald V. Gosa, of Marietta, Georgia and her parents, James William Bragg Jr. and Nell McBride Bragg, and big brother, James W. Bragg III, all of Huntsville, Alabama. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Black) Benge and her husband Bryan Benge of Dallas, Georgia, two brothers, Steve Bragg and his wife Carol, and Ben Bragg and his wife Wendy. She is also survived by her granddaughters Taylor and Riley, niece Mary Bragg, her faithful grand-dog Scooter, and numerous other loving family members. Special thanks to her first husband, Richard Black, of Powder Springs, Georgia who provided her much support through the years.
Diane graduated from Huntsville High School in 1969 and attended Jacksonville State University. She settled in Marietta, Georgia where she spent 20 years working with the City of Marietta. She and Ron retired to Lake Sinclair and then Anniston Alabama.
After Ron’s passing, she returned to Huntsville where she worked in the finance department of Wyle Laboratories. She then retired again to be with her daughter, Rebecca, in Florida where the two of them would often enjoy in tourist adventures together.
Diane was known for her constant desire to “get up and go.” She was always willing to accompany others on errand runs, dining out, and shopping (especially junkin’!) When traveling, she always preferred the scenic route for fear she’d miss out on all the good stuff waiting to be discovered along the way. Diane will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park’s Columbarium in Marietta, Georgia. Visitors will be accepted beginning at 2:30 pm. Service at 3:00.
Following cremation, her remains will be interred at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, Alabama.
