Diane Facen (Duluth, GA) was born April 18th, 1946 in Memphis, TN to Daniel and Lula King. She passed away March 23, 2020. Both of her parents preceded her in death. The fourth child of Lula King, two brothers preceded her in death Henry, and Willie James. Her surviving siblings are Lois (Charles) Smith (Detroit), Charles (Aurora, IL), Novella (Memphis, TN), Karl (Tacoma, WA), Najmah (Memphis, TN). Other siblings from Daniel King, Eva Mae- transitioned, Ivory (Chicago), Jimmy (Atlanta), Rosemary (Temple, TX), and Betty (Omaha, NE.)
Diane’s children: Roger Jerome Dickson Jr. (Chicago, IL) Lisa Joy McCorkle (Marietta, GA.) and Vanessa Facen (Los Angeles- preceded her in death in 2005).
Diane’s grandchildren: Jasmine (Zachary) Shytle (Windsor, CO.) and Nicholas McCorkle (Marietta, GA)
Diane attended and graduated from Booker T Washington High School. The school helped her develop a life skill of hair care. Diane was very passionate about keeping stylish and healthy hair.
Early on Diane work at USPS, US Census, retail, and eventually got a start in insurance industry at Ben Phillips Insurance in East St Louis which help develop her skills in the insurance industry. After leaving the agency in 1980 she went on to work with several other insurance companies and eventually retired from Cigna Healthcare.
Diane was the most loving mother and grandmother. She loved her extended family and her dearest friends.. Her love of GOD was her greatest love of all.

This is indeed a hardship for me because no matter the circumstances this was my big sister who protected and nourished me all my young life even til death I know she loved me and I loved her! I thank God for allowing us to spend some “precious time” together before she got her Heavenly wings! I will and already miss her but God does not make any mistakes! Rest in the Lord my sweet sister until we met again! 🙏 ❤️ 😍
