Dillard Ledford
February 5, 1947 ~ July 2, 2026
Dillard Ledford, 79, of Marietta Georgia passed away peacefully on
Thursday July 2, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Macon, North
Carolina on February 5, 1947, Dillard was known for his gentle nature,
quiet generosity, and love for his family. He was a devoted husband and a
loving father.
Dillard spent over 50 years as a talented craftsman. He was recognized by
many for the pride he took in an honest day’s work as well as his strong
work ethic. Dillard was a simple, kind man. He did not need the spotlight;
he valued a man’s word, integrity, and the beauty of a job done right. After
retiring, he embraced a quiet life enriched by tending his garden, fishing
and the company of close friends.
Dillard is lovingly remembered by his daughter Kimberly Henderson, and
son in law Chris Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 34 years Beverly Wilson
Ledford, his father-in-law Jerry Robert Wilson, Sr, sister-in-law Sherry
Garrett, brother-in-law Jerry Robert “Robbie” Wilson, Jr, son in law Barry
Allen Swindle, parents John and Fannie Ledford, and brother Bobby
Ledford.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday July 10, 2026, at Southern
Cremations and Funerals 1861 Dallas Highway Marietta Georgia 30064.
Visitation will take place from 10-12 with service following at 12. In lieu of
flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Shepherd Center
Foundation. Online tax-deductible donations can be made via the
Shepherd Center Donation Page on their website or by check to Shepherd
Center Foundation 2020 Peachtree Road, NW Atlanta Georgia 30309.

He loved them as if they were his own.
He told me they called him Poppa Diller, in toddler. Children are so innocent and love unconditionally, just as Jesus commands us.
You always cared about your parents and looked out for your younger brothers and sisters.
We all love you so much! You are greatly missed. I know you found Heaven to be more awesome and glorious than we talked about. How wonderful that you are now with your beloved Beverly.
