Dorothy Imogene Rogers

Dorothy Imogene Rogers, affectionately known to her family and friends as Jean, was born March 4, 1935, in Union County, Blairsville, Georgia. She loved antiques, flowers, birdhouses, and church but her greatest love was her grandson, Brayden. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Kathy McElreath, two granddaughters, Lori Baumgardner and Christie McElreath, one great-grandson, Brayden Baumgardner, one sister, Jeri Goggins, one brother Billy Ellis, and two sisters-in-law, Vivienne Ellis and Wanda Ellis. Her loving husband, Kenneth, and one brother, Robert Ellis, were called home before her. Viewing will be hosted from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Southern Cremations & Funerals Columbarium, 1861 Dallas Hwy, Marietta, Georgia 30064. Service will be held, Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 12 PM, also at the Columbarium. God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the Earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb, so he closed your weary eyelids and whispered, “Peace be thine.” It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone. For part of us went with you the day God called you home.
