Marietta Southern Cremations & Funerals
Charles quietly slipped peacefully away from the confines of life on Sabbath afternoon, December 7th at 4:30 PM after a gradual decline in health. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family and caregivers during the last days of his life. Charles was born in Chicago, Illinois. After serving in the US Army in Germany, during the Viet Nam War, he and the former Patricia Jones were married and spent quality time in Michigan, Florida, California, Indiana, Wisconsin, and finally Georgia. He completed studies at Andrews University in Michigan and at Indiana State University. Over the course of time, three children were born. He was a loving husband and father, a dedicated middle school teacher and high school educator, and thoroughly enjoyed laughing and interacting with people of all ages, especially children. Further, he has thoroughly enjoyed serving as a church elder and Sabbath school teacher. He was a history buff, a closet artist, an avid baseball fan, as well as an idealist ever searching for truth. He and wife moved to Georgia from Wisconsin in 2008 after his retirement to be near their children.
Charles is survived by his wife, Patricia and three children; Heather, Jonathan and Adrienne, a daughter-in-law, Wendy Jenkins and two grandchildren: Christopher and Joshua Jenkins; He is also survived by his father Paul Bridgeforth, three brothers Tim, William, and Robert Jenkins (and spouses), three sisters; Winifred Jenkins, Sharlene Pillow, and Dolores Crawford, as well as a host of other relatives.and friends. He is sorely missed.

Patricia, my prayers are with you and your family. So many memories come to mind from Independence Church, Hinsdale,Cabrini Green Housing Project, Andrews University and the bible study lessons that I gave Charles. Such wonderful memories and thoughts of you guys. I will continue to pray for healing for you and your children.
Much Love,

Hi Patricia and family. Only time will heal but you are blessed to have the love of a godly man. I’ll never forget our days on the west side and Cabrini. May God bless you and your family
