Fairburn Southern Cremations & Funerals
Our dearly beloved Duane Wesley Rowe was granted his heavenly wings on October 15th, 2020 after succumbing to his brain injury. After being hospitalized and fighting for his life for three weeks, he sadly passed away at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Duane was born on January 13, 1987 in Brooklyn, New York parents, Yvonne J. Rowe (mother) and Wesley H. Larrier (father). He was the younger of the two children for Yvonne and the oldest son for Wesley.
He was affectionately called Duaney by his mother and sister and spent his younger years growing up in Brooklyn. He attended P.S. 181 John L. Steptoe elementary (K-8) school and graduated from William E. Grady High School. He then went on to study Electrical Engineering at C.U.N.Y Kings College, before moving with his Mother and sister Tasha to Union City, Georgia in April 2006.
Duane was a meticulous and hardworking young man. He worked at BMW in Atlanta, as an Automotive Detailer, followed by working at Fed X handler and finally at Porex Filtration Corporation as a Production Operator. He was a team player and was well liked by his co-workers and managers.
Duane was known for his big smile, which would brighten your day and melt your heart if you were having a bad day. He also touched so many people with his positive energy, confidence, fearlessness, kindness, realness, and warmth. He would give you the very shirt off of his back, and when you would call, he was always there. He was a good guy and it was difficult for him to hold a grudge.
On his spare time, he enjoyed watching crime stories and science documentaries. He was a big basketball fan and loved playing the game. His nickname on the basketball court was “Mouse” because of his quickness. He played so hard that you would think he would make it to the NBA! He also loved catching up his friends and having a good time.
Duane had a laid back persona. He loved his family, especially his mother and his older sister Tasha, who he refers to as his twin. He enjoyed teaching his younger cousins about life and encouraged his friends and those around him. He was looking forward to having a family of his own one day. He will be deeply missed by his family and his memory will remain with us for a lifetime. Duane, we love you always!
He is preceded by both his maternal and paternal grandparents, Aunts: Marva Boxill and Ambrozine Rowe-Solomon. He is survived by his parents Yvonne Joy Rowe, Wesley Henderson Larrier. Duane was the kindest guy I’ve ever met. He even went as far as providing me with a car to go back and forth to work and see my family for Christmas! He will absolutely be missed! His passion for basketball was one of my memories. My and my family sends our deepest condolences to his family.
Miss you bro…it’s been years wish we could’ve caught up 🙏🏽🕊
Our friendship first began back in 2005 our freshman year at City College. We had all the same classes, you always hung out with me and my female friends. Where ever I was there you were right beside me. I remember the following year you told me that you was moving to ATL. So, I wrote you a letter saying how much I truly enjoy our friendship and that I was going to miss you. We both promised to keep in touch. I can say you definitely kept your word and we’ve been rocking ever since and our friendship have blossomed throughout the years. Eventhough we were miles apart it always felt like you was near. We would stay on the phone for hours reminiscing and talking about life. We used to laugh and say we going to be two old friends still reminiscing about the good old days. September 23rd we spoke minutes before your incident not knowing it will be the last. 😔 But, the Lord had greater plans. I will always cherish the 15 years of memories we both shared. You will always be in my heart. Theres not a day that I don’t think of you best friend. Continue to RIP with your Heavenly Father. I love you always Duannypooh. ❤
My heartfelt prayers are with Aunty Yvonne and Tasha. Gone way too soon. May your soul rest in heavenly peace.
Loss leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no can steal. May these flowers remind you of the beauty that lives on in your memories.
We are thinking of you during this difficult time, and we pray that God provides your family with as much comfort as you will need.
