Evelyn Wright

Mrs. Evelyn "Pete" W. Wright, of Fairburn, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2006. She was 79 years old. She was born on September 6, 1927 to the late Horace and Willie Kate Watson. Mrs. Wright is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Bill Wright. Evelyn was a graduate of Campbell High School of Fairburn in 1944 and enjoyed the annual reunions. She was a banker with Tri-City Bank for years, and in the 1970's, alongside her husband, they founded the Wright Funeral Home in Fairburn, which still serves the community today as Holly Hill Funeral Home. Mrs. Wright was a very active member in the Palmetto Senior Center as well as other areas of the community. Her smile, compassion, and friendliness will be greatly missed. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Thomas L. and Jill Hardy, daughters, Renee and Steve McGehee, Vickie and Mike Talentino, and Kathy Beasley, one brother, Horace "Red" Watson, Jr., eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several close cousins. Mrs. Wright will be laid to rest beside her husband at Holly Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Friday, October 27, 2006 at Holly Hill Funeral Home and services honoring Mrs. Wright's life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Fairburn, 23 Malone Street, Fairburn, GA at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 28, 2006, with the Rev. Tom Dougherty officiating. Mrs. Wright will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
