Frank Patterson “Pat” Dearing III “Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23

Frank Patterson “Pat” Dearing III, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on August 19, 2026.

Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Pat was the beloved son of Rev. and Mrs. Frank P. Dearing, Jr. Raised in a home grounded in faith, service, and love for the church, he carried those values throughout his life and shared them generously with others.

Pat is survived by his cherished wife, Sherron, his daughters, Kelly Roberts and Kerri Beeson; and his treasured grandchildren: Jenny Roberts, Will Roberts, Jake Roberts, and Megan (Matthew) Devita. He is also survived by his brother Peter (Susan) and was preceded in death by his brother Michael (Gail). Pat loved his family deeply and found great joy in each of them.

Pat honorably served his country for eight years in the U.S. Army Military Police Active Reserve. He completed his initial training at Fort Benning, Georgia, with the 504th Military Police Battalion and concluded his service with the 316th Military Police Battalion.

In his early years, Pat loved hunting and spent many seasons in the Southeast and Midwest.

A man of many gifts, Pat spent 17 years as an Instrument Technician with St. Regis Paper Company, where he serviced, designed, and installed a wide range of measurement and control systems. He later devoted 35 years to the real estate industry, beginning in sales and eventually earning his broker’s license. Over the years, he managed five real estate offices in Jacksonville, Florida, taught real estate courses, and served in numerous leadership roles with two major real estate franchises, including Regional Director, Education Director, and Research and Development Director. He also wrote and taught training courses in marketing, business management, and technology.

In 2003, Pat and Sherron built their spacious dream log home on two acres in Cherry Log, Georgia, nestled in the Chattahoochee National Forest, where they enjoyed frequent visits from bears, deer, and wild turkeys. They lived there until moving to Kennesaw in 2023. Since 2004, they have been faithful members of St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Pat served as a vestryman, Junior and Senior Warden, Director of Education, a member of the St. Luke’s Men’s Group and a member of the choir. His service to the church reflected his deep and abiding faith.

Pat delighted in learning, creating, and working with his hands. He enjoyed countless hobbies and crafts, always eager to try something new. He built rustic furniture, wove chair seats, made

baskets, birdhouses, benches, and even whimsical lamps from unexpected materials. His creativity and joy in “building stuff” brought beauty, laughter, and warmth to those around him.

Above all, Pat lived a life marked by love—love for God, for his family, and for the people he served. His legacy of faith, integrity, and generosity will continue to bless all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 5th at 11:00 AM at St. Luke’s Church, 7 Ewing Street, Blue Ridge, GA 30513. The family invites all who knew and loved Pat to join in celebrating his life and giving thanks for the hope we share in Christ.
