Gene O. Howell, age 74, of Palmetto passed away Sunday, November 4, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Sylacauga, AL to the late John Hardee Howell and the late Minnie Baker. Mr. Howell was a retired mechanic and of the Baptist faith. Gene Howell is survived by his wife, Gloria "Faye" Howell of Palmetto; daughters, Deborah Hughes of Palmetto, Dewanna Brooks of Social Circle, Angie Howell of Woodstock, Sharon Chapman of Palmetto, and Jeanette Howell of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 14 Grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris McAnnally of Sylacauga, AL; and brother, Jack Howell of Sylacauga, AL. Funeral services for Mr. Gene O. Howell will be conducted in the Chapel of Holly Hill Funeral Home Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Family will accept friends for visitation on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Holly Hill Funeral Home.
