Jerry was born January 2, 1940 in Miami, Florida to the Late Christopher B. Taber and the Late Rachel A. Sharp Taber. He was preceded in death by his brother James E. Taber.
Jerry was married to Phyllis E. Zarder Taber and they gave birth to two daughters.
He served in the US Navy from 1959-1963. After serving in the Navy, he worked for Florida Power and Light as a line man until he retired. He relocated to Daytona Beach, Florida where he enjoyed riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles, hanging out with his friends, and being with his family.
He is survived by his two daughters: Kimberly and Kristin; two son-in-laws: Cal and Jim; six grandchildren: Justin, Jenna, Jamie, Kristopher, Libby, and Jackson; two great-grandchildren: Sawyer and Kenzi. He is also survived by his cousin: Jim Taber and Family, and a host of many close friends.
Jerry passed away on September 16, 2019 after a battle with prostate/bone cancer. He was surrounded by his family.
The family requests donations be made to Halifax Humane Society, Daytona Beach, Florida, to honor Jerry and his beloved dog Newman. Jerry will be greatly missed by family and friends.
