Gertrude Duncan

Gertrude Isabell Duncan-Haynes, 88 of Jonesboro, GA, went home to be with the lord on Sept 6, 2016 at 10:30 p.m. at the Jonesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Gertrude was born May 2, 1928 in Isle of Pine, Cuba. Born to the late Cyril and Burley Grant Reid. She migrated to Jamaica, then back to Cuba where she married Leonard Duncan the two migrated to the United States, and after their divorce she married again, to Vere Haynes. Gertrude worked at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford CT for many years. She was also a Beautician by trade who owned and operated her own salon. Throughout her life she always expressed how much she loved the Lord. She was preceded in death by her brother Lester Reid Grant and sister Elieca Victoria Reid Small, and is survived by her two sisters Vera Frazer of Ellenwood, GA and Velma Faulknor(Dudley) of Georgetown, Grand Cayman. She leaves behind two special niece's April Foster and AnnMarie Martin her Goddaughter/niece Carleen Frazer along with a host of nieces, nephews, grandneices and grandnephews. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at Eastlawn Memorial Park, 640 McGarity Rd, McDonough GA 30252
