Gladys Marie Hollyfield

Mrs. Gladys Marie Hollyfield , 87, of Union City, Georgia passed away on Friday, March 21, 2008. She had appeared in several movies, many television commercials, bill boards and magazine advertisements. She worked along side of Tom Hanks, Tim Conway, Lenny Montana, Richard Keil, Tatum O'Neal, Patty Duke, and Chuck McCann just to name a few. She also worked with Jessica Tandy in "Driving Miss. Daisy". She had been in failing health for several years and resided at Christian City Convalescent Center in Union City, Georgia. She also lived at Georgia Baptist Children's Home when it was located in Hapeville, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Mr. George W. Finch and Mrs. Belle Finch. She is preceded in death by her loving husband: Merrill Lamar Hollyfield, three sisters: Dorothy Tothill, Emily Boyette, and Lola Mae Kunschick. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her daughter: Merrill Bennington; one brother: Harold Finch; three grandchildren: Dana Daugherty, Lisa Stevenson, and Joey Gibson; one great grandchild: Thomas Gibson; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 24, 2008 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Holly Hill Funeral Home, 431 SW Broad Street, Fairburn, GA 30213. There will be a graveside service honoring Mrs. Hollyfield at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Sardis Baptist Church, 8400 Sardis Road, Palmetto, GA 30268, with Reverend David Hammonds officiating.
