Marietta Southern Cremations & Funerals
Grace Daley Martin was born on March 6, 1933 to Beatrice Ashley and John Daley in Montclair, New Jersey. Her sunset was on August 15, 2017 in Marietta, Georgia, where she resided close to her daughter Lynn's family.
Grace was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and caring friend. She will be remembered by those who loved her for her beautiful smile, generous hospitality, uplifting presence, quick wit, and delicious cooking.
The legacy of her season is left to her daughters; Shelly "Renee" Daley (Reggie) of Newark, NJ and Lynn John (Leroy) of Roswell, GA; her sister Jean Lacey of Montclair, NJ; granddaughter Ayannah John; grandson Rahjohn Clemons, and a host of nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
She also leaves to cherish fond memories of her beloved St. Marks United Methodist Church family in Montclair, New Jersey.
Grace's home going service will be at 10:00 am on September 1, 2017 at St. Marks United Methodist Church: 51 Elm Street, Montclair, New Jersey, and a celebration of her life will take place on the same day at 12:00 pm noon, at the Wally Choice Community Center (Glenfield Park House), also located in Montclair, NJ.
On behalf of our dear mom and grandmother we would like to share the poem "Afterglow" by Helen Lowrie:
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
The family acknowledges with deep appreciation all acts of kindness extended to us during our bereavement. Thank you and God bless you all for your thoughtfulness and concern.

‘Grace was one of the nicest persons. She was always kind to me and everyone else around her. I got to know Grace during her visits for Thanksgiving. Her cooking was the best, especially the pistachio cake. She seemed to enjoy life to the fullest… she traveled, extended hospitality to many friends, and was active in her church. She will be missed by many.’
