Harold Buddy Mills

Mr. Harold Buddy Mills, 87, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018. Born July 9, 1931 in Greensboro, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Clyde Harold Mills and the late Clara Rosewell Everhart Mills. A 1954 graduate of Clemson Agricultural College (now Clemson University), Harold joined the United States Air Force as a First Lieutenant and was stationed at Bellefontaine AFB, Bellefontaine, Ohio as a radar operator and aircraft navigator with the 664th A C & W Squadron. On February 2, 1957, Harold married the love of his life, Donna Stiffler of Warsaw, Indiana. After his service in the United States Air Force, Harold worked as an Aerospace Engineer at Lockheed where he was on the design teams for the C130, C141, C5, Jet Star, and Skunk Works. He retired from Lockheed in 1997. During his retirement he worked for Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah on the design team for the Gulfstream V aircraft. Survivors include his wife, Donna J. Mills of Kennesaw, Georgia; his daughter, Kathrine J. Mills of Lawrenceville, Georgia; his son, Andy Mills of Canton, Georgia; his sisters, Rebecca Redding of Greer, South Carolina and Patricia Trotter and her husband Walter of Mableton, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 - 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25th in the Columbarium chapel of Southern Cremations & Funerals at Cheatham Hill, 1861 Dallas Hwy., Marietta, GA 30064 In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Gideons International, Cobb County South Camp U10055, P.O. Box 344, Austell, GA 30168-1003 or to Midway Presbyterian Church ACTS Fund, 4635 Dallas Hwy., Powder Springs, GA 30127. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Midway Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Hall and Rev. David Barry officiating. Mr. Mills will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Ben Adams, Andrew Hall, John Livingston, Brady Pritchett, Wiley Pritchett, and Brent Raessler. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Burnett, Steve Furlong, John Garmon, Ernie Hawley, Bill Knight, Rodney Pritchett, Wes Richardson, and James Scott.
