Ida Lue Bennett

Mrs. Ida Lue Bennett age, 67 of Riverdale, GA died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Southern Regional Hospital. Mrs. Bennett was born in Statesboro, GA to the late Willie Tiller Sr. and the late Lelia Hammond. She was a retired dietary tech with the state of Florida hospital system and a member of Welcome Grove Baptist Church of Fairburn. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Beaulah Miller and Bertha Tiller. Mrs. Bennett is survived by her husband, Ben Bennett of Portsmith, VA; daughters, Brenda Bennett of Riverdale, GA and Janice Polite of Portsmith, VA; sons, Tommy Bennett of Riverdale, GA and James Bennett of Lawrenceville, GA; sisters, Freddie Jones of Ocala FL, Shirley Tiller of Atlanta, GA, Ailene Williams of Atlanta, GA, and Betty McLean of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Billy Tiller of Atlanta, GA, John Lee Tiller of Griffin, GA, and Lawrenceville Tiller of Portal, GA; 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her pet dog and special companion, Uno. Homegoing celebration services for Mrs. Ida Lue Bennett will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the Welcome Grove Baptist Church. Pastor Robin Cole will eulogize. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Bennett will lie in state at the church from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour. Holly Hill Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
