Imogene Ross

Imogene Ross, age 89, of Union City passed away Monday, April 4, 2011 at Sacred Journey Hospice in McDonough, GA. She was born in Rossville, GA daughter of the late James Thomas and the late Lillian Thomas. She was a retired business agent with the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was a member of Lester Road Christian Church. She was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Jean Mills, sons: Lee Roy Ross and Cecil Ross, great-granddaughter, Jordyn Grey Thompson, brothers: James Wallace Thomas, Cecil Delmont Thomas, Everett Eston Thomas, Charles Edward Thomas, Leslie Kenneth Thomas, sisters: Cleo Brock Morris and Dolores Wilson. Survivors include daughters: Carol Thompson (Frankie) of Douglasville, GA, Donna Harvey (Lane) of McDonough, GA, Betty Bryant (Billy) of Temple, GA, son-in-law, Ronnie Mills of Dawsonville, GA, daughter-in-law, Pam Ross, Mableton, GA, brothers: William Joseph Thomas, of Winston, GA, John Jackson Thomas, of Fort Myers, FL, grandchildren: Christine McKinney, Frankie Thompson Jr., Johnny Thompson, Dwayne Thompson, Alan Fincher, Lane Harvey II, Sharon Merlette, Aaron Bryant, Jonathan Daniel, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 1:00 PM till service time. Funeral services for Imogene Ross will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Minister Tony Sullivan will officiate. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park. Holly Hill Funeral Home, 431 SW Broad Street, Fairburn, GA 30213 is in charge of these arrangements.   3. Dear Betty & Billy; we were so sorry to hear of Betty’s mother passing. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you both and the rest of your family. Sallie is out of town this week and I have a previous appointment that I need to keep but please know that our hearts will be thinking of you. Always tough to lose a Mom.   4. God gave Mama a heart full of goodness and grace. He would always show His kindness in things she did and those she touched. Everyone knew God lived in her. She was a wonderful mom and a beautiful plan that began in God’s heart. We will miss her dearly but we will see her again.
