James Donald Goddard

Don Goddard, 78, of Marietta , GA passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Don clebrated his birthday last week and has been a Marietta resident for over 50 years. Don grew up in Rome GA and served in the Korean War as an Airman in the Navy. Upon return from Korea, he married his wife, Doris. Don was a successful businessman in Marietta as co-owner of Furniture Craftsman for many years, followed by ownership of various businesses until retirement. Don has always been a loving father and grandfather, giving of himself to his family and others in every way imaginable. Don is survived by his wife, Doris and children, Tracey (husband, Wayne Farr) and James Goddard (wife, Rita) along with three grandchildren, Chelsea (husband-Chris Kinsler), Charlie Farr, and Audrey Goddard and a host of family and friends.   1. Donnie, as he was known to his family, will be missed by his three surviving sisters, Joan, Glenda & Peggy. He was also preceded in death by our parents, James I. and Eva Helton Goddard.

  3. Uncle Donnie was such a great man. He will be missed so much. No matter how long it had been since we had seen each other, he was always interested in what was happening in our family. I know that his sisters all looked up to him, loved him so much, and have such great memories of this previous rebel rouser, wise big brother, Sailor, and all around wonderful man. Prayers for Aunt Doris, Tracy and Jim and their families.

  4. I am greatly honored to have known Don Goddard. He was the total gentleman, kind ,funny and courteous. He loved his family and was always a pleasure to be around. I know he will be greatly missed but he sure did leave a garden of beautiful memories for a lot of people.Thank you,Don. RIP
