James Geoffrey Williams

February 25, 1942 ~ January 21, 2021

James Geoffrey Williams, age 78, passed peacefully on January 21st of 2021. He is survived by his wife, Maya Williams, his sister, Peggy Haralson, and his nephew, Brandon Williams. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Guy Williams, his mother, Ruth Williams, and his brother, Robert Williams. James Williams was born on February 25 of 1942 in Nashville, TN to parents Robert and Ruth Williams. He graduated the University of Middle Tennessee in 1968 with a Bachelor’s Degree in BA. He was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard of Tennessee with honest and faithful service. He married Maya Williams on October 1st of 2005 and the couple had a wonderful life together: traveling abroad, going to the beach, laughing, and listening and dancing to country music. Jeff was a wonderful husband, a great family man, loving stepdad to Iva and a pawpaw to Abbey. He was a very outspoken, social, and active man who was deeply involved in history and geography. He was a truly great mentor, teacher, preacher, and you could always learn something new talking to him. It is not about how much you keep for yourself, but how much you pour into others. He will be dearly missed and we are forever heartbroken. A funeral is scheduled for February 6 of 2021 between 2 – 5PM at Southern Cremations and Funerals at Cheatham Hill at 1861 Dallas Highway, Marietta, GA 30064. All are welcome to attend! Family would like to thank Northside Hospital Heritage Hospice for all the care and to Southern Cremations and Funerals.
