  1. I loved this man for more than 20 years. He was and always will be my best friend. I love him with my whole being and he will be terribly missed. It’s really hard for me to see my future with him not being by my side, but I know he is with Jesus and that brings me comfort that I will see him again. Go rest high on that mountain! I will carry on in your honor but I will miss you for the rest of my life. I love you, always. Cathy

  2. Jim you will truly be missed. I love you for the man that you were and taking good care of my mama. I will miss bringing you garden tomatoes this summer that I knew you liked as much me. I know you’re in a better place and are no longer sick and you’re free!! Fly high Jim! Love you always, Mandy, Todd, Brannon, Bailey and Jonah Puryear ❤️

  3. You will be missed greatly! Thank you for taking such good care of my momma for so many years. I have so many memories from riding with you in the cab in Athens and how you protected and treated me like your own from the beginning. You endured a lot and fought the good fight and I’m glad you’re no longer in any pain. Until we see you again, Jim/Grandpa Jim Love, Amber, Lee, Harold Lee, and Preston

  4. Your unique sense of humor, your sweet tooth, your passion for South Carolina football and Matt Kenseth racing will never be forgotten. We love you! -Ashley, Joseph and the girls

  5. I miss you so much. Some may think it strange bcuz I didn’t get to spend your last year’s with you, so many regrets for not taking the time to come down, so many regrets when my children refer to you as my dad instead of grandpa. I remember when we were little all the places you took us. I can’t even look at yellow BBQ sauce without getting sad bcuz you cooked with it EVERY single time I visited. I remember the furniture you built, and knocking that granite slab off the table on your foot, lol you yelled so loud it scared me to death lol, I remember the bear hugs, and the Ford truck riding down Peach Orchard dirt Rd. I miss you. I wish I would have came more or called more or just had you more. I’m proud to be “just like your daddy” as they all say. I love you Daddy.
