Jerry Herman Waters

October 6, 1933 ~ March 4, 2021

Jerry H. Waters, passed away on March 4, 2021 at the age of 87. A memorial service will be held on March 15th at 1:00 p.m. at Southern Cremation & Funeral. Jerry is predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Ruth Waters, his son Jerry Mark Waters. He is survived by his daughter, Robyn and several nieces and nephews. Born in Millen, Georgia, Jerry was a Georgia Tech graduate and served his country as a ”Cadre” in the 2nd Infantry Training Regiment in Camp Gordon Georgia, Company H. Upon completion of his service he worked for Massey & Fair as a Manufacturers’ representative until he retired. Upon retirement he moved back to Millen, Georgia where he was an elder in his church, Millen Baptist, and volunteered in numerous charities in and around his town. He especially loved his work with “Millen Make a Difference”. One of his favorite things was going to his church every morning for coffee and visiting with the church staff. Jerry loved the Lord, Jesus Christ and never missed an opportunity to talk with people about the Lord. He was a loving and caring father who was always there for his children. He loved to play cards, golf and fish. And he could tell some tall tales about fishing. He had a quick wit and good sense of humor. Jerry was a very handsome man and in his old age had some fun flirting with the ladies, regardless of their age. He just loved to laugh, get them to laugh and talk with them about life. He was the best father any child could ask for as he taught his children to love the Lord, be honest, work hard and care for others. He will be missed and he is loved to the moon and back and then some. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity in memory of Jerry Waters.

  1. Dearest Robyn: I am so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you doing this very hard time and wishing each day gets easier. Lots of love, Michelle Y xxxx

  2. Jerry came to our house with Robyn for a Christmas eve party …his sense of humor was fablous. One Christmas eve he told the HR Coke person.. “you live longer when you drink Dr. PEPPER”…. We still laugh at that memory. Tom and Jan Wagnitz

  3. What a calm and kind soul. You could could not help but feel at ease when sitting and talking with Jerry, as he was totally present and attentive. It was like he was conversing with your soul, and the conversation was just the side show. Talk about someone who lived his Faith. He will be missed. Our world needs more Jerrys. May God bless his family and all who got to know Jerry.
