Jo Marie Adcock

Jo Marie Adcock passed away on December 11, 2020 in Sandy Springs, Georgia. She was born in Canyon, Texas on September 6, 1930 to Robert Alvin and Josie Mae Adcock. Jo graduated from Lutcher Stark High School in Orange, Texas and Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, Texas. She taught school at East Handley Elementary School in Fort Worth, Texas for thirty years. Jo was a member of Polytechnic Methodist Church in Fort Worth. Jo’s passions were teaching school and traveling the world. She visited 5 continents and many states. Her travels took her to many interesting places like the Gobi Desert. A move in 2007 to Roswell, Georgia to be close to family was an adjustment for this native Texan, but joining Roswell United Methodist Church after her move helped her feel at home. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, brother Foy Adcock, Sr. and nephew, Gary Adcock. She is survived by her brother, James (Lynn) Adcock, nephews, Alan (Diane) Adcock, and David (Alexis) Adcock. Her surviving great nephews are Travis, Emerson, Eliot, Bryan and Brandon Adcock. Donations in her memory can be made to Roswell United Methodist Church Foundation, 814 Mimosa Blvd, Roswell, Georgia.
