Joann Payton

Joann Morris Payton, of Senoia, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Atlanta, GA to the late John R. Morris and the late Opal Wilson. Mrs. Payton was a member of Shadnor First Baptist Church. She retired as a Manager with Delta Credit. Mrs. Payton is preceded in death by her sisters Doris Fowler and Dorothy Pruitt; and brother, Robert Morris. She is survived by sons, Stephen Millard Payton of Sharpsburg, Joe Michael Payton of Hogansville, and David Scot Payton of Newnan; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Brenda Groce of Stockbridge; brothers, Jack Morris of Haralson and Ronnie Morris of Thomaston. Funeral services for Mrs. Joann Morris Payton will be conducted Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11 O'clock A.M. in the chapel of Holly Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park, GA. The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, May 17, 2013 at the funeral home from 5 o'clock P.M. until 8 O'clock P.M.   2. I love my Granny and miss her so very much. Praise God I will see her on the other side. She taught me so many important things about family. So many great memories and lessons to pass down. She also gave me a wonderful Father. I am so glad to call Steve my Dad. He treated my Granny like Queen through it all. We will never forget and can’t wait to see her again. She was so beautiful as always.

  6. I went to HS with Joann and had not seen her since graduation, until September 2010 when she came to a reunion at CHS. She was the same same sweet person I remembered from HS. My heart goes out to your family and I will remember you in my prayers. Jerrie Bonner

  7. Steve,Mike and Dave. You have my deepest sympthy, Joann was one of a kind. she was a very care giving lady. Her heart was filled with love for all her family. I will always cherish our trip to Germany. I can just see her laughing now, lot’s of memories. On 5-16-13 God needed another Angel in Heaven and he said well done my servant and called Joann to her Heavenly Home. She will reign in my heart forever. My love to each of you. Janet & John
