John Bunyan Hubert III

John “Johnny” Hubert, III, age 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2019. He remains in the hearts of his wife of 39 years, Wonda Hubert; his children, Kris Hubert, Lori (Tom) Klouda, Jeff (Micki) McKenzie, Heather (Steve) Gentrup, Christopher Norton, Susan (Mike) Betsill, Paige Hubert; 26 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters and a brother. The son of John and Betty Hubert, John was born and raised in Atlanta where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. After joining the Navy at the age 18, John proudly served 33 years. Serving both Active and Reservist, he achieved the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer before he retired. John graduated with an Accounting degree from Georgia State University and retired from the Cobb County Sheriff’s department where he worked in the Courthouse, Crime Scene Unit Photographer, and the Detention Center. As a member of Macland Presbyterian Church, he was well respected by co-workers, his fellow service people and all those who had the pleasure to know him. His celebration for life will be held at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Columbarium Chapel on Monday, July 22nd at 10 A.M. The family will receive visitors immediately following the service and presentation of Military Honors.
