Joshua Daniel Dunn was born in Atlanta, Georgia on October 9, 1994 and transitioned home June19, 2021 at the age of 26 at his residence in Flowery Branch, Georgia.
He was an honor student at Benjamin E. Mays High School and graduated in 2013. He participated in the Academic Decathlon Academy for gifted and talented students. Joshua was an active member in the marching band and the Mays Raiders Club. Joshua was also a member in the National Beta Club Society with a GPA of 87 and served on the Yearbook Committee.
Joshua attended Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Georgia from 2013 - 2017 where he received the prestigious Hope Scholarship. His major concentration was Computer Engineering.
Joshua had aspirations of starting his own business and incorporated a trucking delivery service he called JOSHUAS’ CARGO DELIVERY LLC. He became a homeowner at the age of twenty-three. Joshua was last employed at SK Battery America Inc located in Commerce, Georgia. Before that he served nearly four years as Supervisor at John Soules Foods and a production team leader at Fieldale Farms Corporation for over three years. Joshua held the following positions during his life: production team leader; quality assurance specialist and quality control specialist.
Joshua Dunn is survived by his parents Joseph Dunn Jr. and Aretha Scott, His grandparents Joseph Dunn Sr, Diann Dunn, and Minnie Weaver. Joshua has two brothers and two sisters on his mother's side which are Michael Scott Jr, Latesha Scott, Marcus Scott, and Latonya Scott. On Joshua’s father's side, he is survived by his Uncle Michael Dunn, two first cousins, Malik and Mazz, his Aunt Karen Dunn, and his Great Uncle Billy Mills who he was close to. On his mother’s side, he has his Uncles Isaiah Pittman IV and Napoleon as well as his Aunt Laverne Anderson. Joshua had many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Two special cousins are Arquavius Harris who was like a brother to Joshua, and Jesse Harris who was like a father figure. Joshua Dunn is also survived by many more family and friends that he loved dearly.
Joshua was loved by many and a great joy to be around! He will be remembered as a beloved brother to his siblings, a wonderful uncle to his many nieces and nephews, an adorned cousin and a fantastic friend. Joshua will be mostly remembered by family, friends and loved ones for his humorous laugh, wonderful smile and warm giving heart. We will all love and miss you greatly Joshua.
