Judith (Judy) LaFleur Snell

February 7, 1934 ~ July 26, 2026

Judith (Judy) LaFleur Snell passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 26, 2026, after a long battle with Parkinsons Disease. She was born February 7, 1934, in Winchester, Massachusetts.

She moved to New York city after high school to work for American Airlines.  Judy met her future husband Barry in NYC in 1961 and had 3 children all while living in Queens, NY. Barry was transferred around the state of New York and New Jersey until eventually being transferred to Atlanta in 1981.  She immediately became involved with the newcomers club and made many lifelong friends, bridge was her favorite activity with her friends.

When she became an empty nester, she worked for ATT for 8 years and really enjoyed her time there. After she and Barry retired, they loved traveling with close friends all over the world, including a trip on Orient Express and a safari in Africa.

She was doting grandmother and really enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family in both Boston and Atlanta.  As well as her sister and brother-in-law in Colorado and friends Beanie and Wallace.  She also adored her Border Collies, and they kept her busy and entertained.

She spent her last 7 years at her assisted living (Pruitt of East Cobb) and loved the special caregivers, especially those that had been there with her during her entire time there. We are forever grateful to all those whose exceptional care, patience, laughter and love brought immense comfort to “Miss Judy” and the entire family.  Also, Katie that brought her such joy on every visit, we can’t thank you enough!

She is survived by her sister, Betsey Snell (Mel) Frazier of Delta, CO; her daughters Michelle LaFleur (Dennis) Richey of Upton, MA, and their children Colin, Camryn, and Chloe; Kathy (Rich) Boden and their son Brayton of Marietta, GA; and Martha Genzman of Milton, GA, and her children Robert and Jacque Genzman.  She was preceded in death by her husband Barry LaFleur, son Steven LaFleur, and parents, Catherine Brayton and Edward Snell.
