Kathryn Juliet Bigliardi

Kathryn Juliet Seward Hobbs Bigliardi, 73, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2019 at Tranquility At Kennesaw Mountain Hospice facility in Marietta GA after a lengthy struggle with Lewy Body Dementia. Kathryn was born in Flushing, NY in 1946, grew up in Seaford, NY and became a ‘Jackolyn of all trades’. In her early career in NY, she earned a cosmetology license and did hairdressing. She married in 1964, and attended accounting classes and managed her husband’s construction company in Kingsport, TN while raising 2 children. She remarried in 1994, and while raising 2 more children kept books for a local trucking company, and then opened her own lingerie store in Bristol, Tn. In 1998 she moved to GA, where she worked her way up to be a Full Charge Bookkeeper for the Austell, GA branch of a large international company. Her passion was creating colorful quilts and wall hangings, making and decorating ceramics, and doing cross stitch. She enjoyed traveling and visited Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, New York City, Niagara Falls, and various areas in Florida. She especially enjoyed trips to the Netherlands, Pisa and Rome Italy, London England, She has an extensive souvenir spoon collection from all over the country and Europe. Due to her long and difficult health struggles, Kathryn also joined the YMCA, a Lewy Body Dementia Support group, Parkinson’s support groups, and a Stoke and Traumatic Brain Injury support group, where she developed many friendships. The family would like to express a special thanks to Ross Memorial Health Care Center for taking wonderful care of her, and Tranquility Hospice at Kennesaw Mountain for keeping her comfortable at the end. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Estelle Seward. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Richard Bigliardi of Kennesaw, a son Thomas Hobbs of Waxahachie TX, a daughter Carolyn Creamer of Marietta, a step son Scott Bigliardi of Bluff City TN, a step-daughter Jennifer Bigliardi, and one step-grandson Sabastian Dunn of Bristol TN A memorial service and life celebration will be held on Wednesday, October 2nd from 6PM to 9PM at Southern Cremations and Funerals at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park at 1861 Dallas Highway, Marietta, GA 30064 in their Columbarium Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
