Mr. Kevin John Coyle age 82, of Powder Springs GA, passed peacefully from this life on March 28, 2021.
He was born in New York City on February 26, 1939. He was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Eugene Coyle and his sister Patricia Cusack.
Growing up in New York City, Kevin loved riding his bike, baseball, competitive swimming, and working as a lifeguard. At the age of 17 he joined the Navy and served on the U.S.S. Meredith as a fireman and electrician. After leaving the Navy he worked as a Bus Driver, and a Mechanic for Pan American Airlines. In 1977 he joined the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department and lived in Bethpage Long island until his retirement in 1990.
In 1991 he and Catherine moved to Powder Springs, Georgia. Kevin and Catherine loved to travel, visiting several continents and most of the United States while visiting family. He loved sewing, leather working, metal restoration, was an avid reader and was a lover of all things related to water. Kevin could build or fix just about just about anything and was happy to share that knowledge with anyone that wanted to learn. He loved making family and friends laugh and was known for his outrageous sense of humor. He was a fierce guardian and protector of all those he loved.
Kevin is survived by his wife Catherine Coyle, Four children- Donna Cannone, Daniel Coyle (Joy), Michael Coyle (Shira), Tarajean Ansel (Bill), Twelve grandchildren - Jonathan Cannone (Meredith), Daniel Cannone, Elizabeth Cannone, Timothy Cannone (Ashton), Kaitlin Coyle, Kelly Coyle, Shannon Coyle, Samantha Coyle, Sean Coyle, Caitlin Ansel, Alex Ansel, and Alexander Moore, plus Three great-grandchildren Judah, Zion, and Willow Cannone and his nephew Timothy Cassidy.
A funeral is scheduled for April 1st, 2021, at Southern Cremations of Cheatham Hill, 1861 Dallas Highway, Marietta, GA. There will be a viewing from 2:00 – 3:00, service from 3:00 – 4:00, followed by Military Honors and a Remembrance from 4:00 – 5:00.
