Leonard "Len" J Nemec

Former Maryland resident and businessman, Leonard “Len” J Nemec, 89, died on February 26, 2020. Mr. Nemec was born on September 21, 1930 in Baltimore, MD, to Edward and Bertha Nemec. After serving in the US Army, Len settled back in Baltimore, married his 1st wife, Catherine, with whom he had 5 children. He modeled an amazing work ethic to his children in his various jobs, including ones at McCormick Spice and Chesapeake Food Brokers, before starting his own food brokerage business, LJN Sales and Marketing, which he owned and operated until he retired. Len lived in Baltimore, Richmond, Ellicott City, Towson, Deep Creek Lake, Montross, VA and Ocean Pines, before moving to GA. in his final years. Len loved traveling, living on the water, talking politics, watching FOX News, his Orioles/Colts/Ravens, and spoiling his grandkids and great-grandkids. Len is survived by his current wife, Clara, his children: Mary T. Curtier, Diana Councell, JoAnne Sellors, Leonard Nemec, Jr, and Edward Nemec- their spouses Thomas Curtier, Matthew Sellors, Debbie Nemec, and Paulina Nemec- his sister Betty Hall, as well as 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A visitation will take place on Sunday March 1st, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 1:00PM at Southern Cremations and Funerals at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park, 1861 Dallas Highway, Marietta, GA. A military funeral will be held in his honor on Monday March 2, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his honor to the Wounded Warrior Project
