Linda Tilzey

Linda Gay Tilzey, née Geddings, 74, of Marietta, Georgia passed away peacefully on June 21, 2019 from complications of Myelodysplastic Syndrome, a rare blood cancer. Linda was born in Augusta, Georgia on August 14, 1944, the daughter of John and Marguerite Geddings. She graduated from the Academy of Richmond County in Augusta and attended both Augusta College and Chattahoochee Technical Institute, studying Mathematics and Computer Science. Linda loved to fly, a passion born in 1964 when she began working for Delta Airlines as a flight attendant. Flying made her feel free. Her lifelong passion took her around the globe on countless adventures, exploring all seven continents. Linda is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Harold and their three daughters: Dara Fairgrieves (Alan), Heather Clements (Patrick), and Alice McConnell. She was blessed with six grandchildren: Tessa and Jonathan Fairgrieves, Jacqueline and Jonathan Clements, and Evelyn and Jack McConnell. She is also survived by her two sisters Faye Butler and Wanda Butler, a large extended family, and cherished lifelong friends. Family and friends are invited to gather on June 30, 2019 from 2pm-5pm at 1231 Grandview Drive in Mableton, Georgia to remember Linda and share their fondest memories.
