Linnett Adina Dingwall, affectionately known as “Mommy,” “Aunt Lyn,” and, as her sons grew older, “Root Lyn,” passed away peacefully on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the remarkable age of 89. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to family.
Linnett was born on July 20, 1937, in Siloah, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. She later made her home in May Pen, Clarendon, where she built a life centered on family, faith, and community. A proud homemaker, Linnett devoted herself fully to raising her seven children, creating a nurturing and loving environment that would shape generations to come.
She shared a beautiful and enduring partnership with her beloved husband, Victor Arthur, with whom she spent seventy wonderful years. Together, they built a strong and loving family, raising two daughters and five sons. Their bond stood as a shining example of commitment, partnership, and enduring love.
Linnett found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved traveling, especially beginning in the 1980s when she started visiting the United States. These trips brought her immense happiness, as they allowed her to spend cherished time with her grandchildren and extended family. Whether hosting gatherings or sharing stories, Linnett had a natural gift for bringing people together. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting presence of family.
Above all, Linnett’s greatest love was her family. She was the heart and foundation of her household—a steady source of strength, guidance, and unconditional love. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she dedicated her life to ensuring they felt supported, cared for, and deeply loved.
Linnett leaves behind a legacy that will live on through her children: daughters Karlene and Suzette; sons Trevor, Dalton, Lenny, Arthur, and Morell. She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, twenty-four grandchildren, and twenty-four great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her presence in their lives.
Her passing leaves a profound void, but her memory will forever be cherished. Linnett’s kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to family will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be remembered not only for the life she lived but for the love she gave so freely and generously.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched. Her legacy of love, unity, and compassion will endure through the generations she nurtured and inspired.
A celebration of Linnett’s life will be held on April 18, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at 640 McGarity Rd, McDonough, GA 30252. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and honor of a life beautifully lived.
She will be deeply missed, but forever remembered with love.
