McDonough Southern Cremations & Funerals
Lorna May Johnson was born on July 17, 1951 into a family of two brothers and one sister. She was the third child for Dudley and Miriam Johnson. She is survived by her sister Yvonne and her brother Junior. Sister Lorna had a passion for our Lord Jesus Christ. She was or still is a Revivalist. She loved going to her revival church where she would participate in singing, dancing, and praising the Lord.
She spent most of her adult life in Jamaica where she worked as a stock taker and bartender for Jamaica Defense Force (JDF). She worked with the JDF for over a decade, where she would use her influence to garner jobs for a few of her family members and friends.
Sister Lorna departed this life on October 7, 2020. Lorna May Johnson leaves to mourn, six children: Michael Cotterrell, Alwayne Hermitt, Shereen Ranger, Kareen Morrison, Lisa Weir, and Tamara Simms; two son-in-law, 17 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
She would tell us about her dreams and what it meant regarding everyday life. She would tell us that Jesus said to her, “Be still and know that I am God”.
