  1. My sincerest condolences for your loss. I was a teammate of Charlie’s on the 65 Athens High football team. Even back then, he was a standup guy.

  2. When my brother Charlie was a young boy around 8 years old, he would spend part of the summer with his Aunt Laura who had no children of her own. It had been raining the day before and the ground was soft, so his Aunt Laura asked him to go outside and pull up the weeds in her garden. After working with enthusiastic vigor, Charlie commented with compassion, “You know, Aunt Laura, it’s a sad day for the weeds.” In spite of his rambunctious nature, he was tender hearted and had empathy even for the weeds,

  3. Love. Vikki Trey Dillon and Samantha. Waters says:

Blessings over Julia and you Charlie. You always made me laugh. Your wit, humor, intelligence and kind heart is your legacy that lives on in ours.

  4. God bless Charlie and his family!! ❤️🙏🏻 RIH

  5. I attended Barrow School and Athens High with Charlie. He was a good friend and a great guy to know. We went our separate ways after UGA. My sympathy to his family, I am sure he will be missed. May he RIP. Charles Spence Calhoun Ga.

  6. LtCol Charlie Waters was the true life of the party. He was a mentor and great friend to me as a young 2nd Lt. He was truly loved by all of his squadron mates here at the 700AS and we will miss his laugh and humor! Every one of us has a story and a shared memory of him that well always look back on fondly. Thank you Charlie for your service to this great nation and all the good times shared! With deepest sympathy and love Lance Avery
