Maik B Holland

September 9, 1956 ~ November 4, 2016

Maik Holland was born Sept 9 1956 in Bautzen, Germany. His parents were proud people and instilled characteristics in Maik that led him to be a profoundly moral and giving person. Maik was not a religious man, but his spiritual connection with God was undeniable, truly he gave reverence and thanks to God for all the Blessings in his life. In America, Maik was an enterprising young man; he realized that his gifts and talents were not limited and used his vast capacity for leadership, management, innovation and people skills. His professional development brought him great joy, and along the way knowing Maik, he made an enormous number of friends and associates. To know Maik is to love Maik; he was easy to speak to about any topic; he was extraverted and he possessed an inviting and sweet smile, which were paired with an incredibly infectious laugh. As a man, Maik's qualities were immeasurable; he was a man of his word and he possessed strength, kindness to even strangers and he went above and beyond for his friends. Phyllis and Maik met in 2005, they were clear opposites because Phyllis is a reserved woman and kind of introverted. However, that was a small challenge for Maik and he made a deep and lasting relationship with Phyllis. Phyllis and Maik did share a love of dogs, friends, family and progress. Family was no small matter for Maik and Phyllis; the duo made their efforts in the U.S. about growth, but they helped family throughout the journey. Maik was a great supporter in Phyllis' endeavors and she supported all of his life goals. Together they have battled life's challenges and difficulties; they nurtured and cared for LU-LU and now Chase. On November 4th, 2016, Maik's journey with us came to an end, and though the challenge begins for us in losing Maik with us here; we are comforted in knowing that Maik is in a better place. Maik's legacy is in his example of being happy in the presence of hardship, helping others despite limitations and loving with no reservations. Maik is survived by his sister Marina Holland, his life's true love Phyllis, little Chase (his double doodle) and many friends.
