Malinda Ann Ridley

March 30, 1945 ~ July 17, 2016

Malinda G. Ridley was born on March 30, 1945 in Atlanta, GA. She was one of eight children born to the late William and Candis Glass. After graduating from Atlanta's Turner High School, she attended Atlanta Business School. Malinda worked as a Transportation Operations Specialist for the U.S. government, serving many years at Fort Gillem in Forest Park, GA. She retired in 2000 after 25 years of service. During her marriage to Eugene Ridley, the couple was blessed with one daughter, Kanetra Babalola. Malinda loved to labor in charitable service. She diligently served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and visited the elderly in private and nursing homes. She was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ. Her unforgettable smile was contagious. She transitioned to glory on Sunday, July 17, 2016, following a chronic illness at Amelia Gardens in Marietta, GA. Those who are left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Kanetra Babalola (Olufemi); two grandchildren, Joshua and Maria Babalola; one sister, Ella Nurse; nieces, Cresha Williams, Sharonda Johnson, Candis Delton, Monya James (Craig), Keisha Glass; nephews, Kenneth Mitchell II, Wayne McClarity (Alicia), Ronnie Nurse (Gwen), Glen Nurse, Toney Delton, and a host of other relatives and friends.
