Marc Shelby Chambers

Marc Shelby Chambers, age 58, of Austell, GA, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018, at Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Austell, GA. Marc was born September 2, 1960, at Heard County Memorial Hospital, to Shelby and Joan Chambers. He became a Christian when he was 6 and was baptized at Centralhatchee Baptist Church. He initially lived in Centralhatchee, GA, but moved to Austell, where he lived for most of his life. He worked for Atlanta Gas Light for 27 years. He is survived by his parents, Shelby and Joan Chambers, of Hiram, GA; a son, Jared (Amanda) Chambers, of Powder Springs, GA; a daughter, Danielle (Frank) Rietta, of Alpharetta, GA; brothers, Craig (Pat) Chambers of Kirby, TX, and Darren Chambers of Hiram, GA; grandsons, Christopher Clark and Elem Chambers; granddaughters, Sydney Clark and Elora Chambers; as well as five nieces. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Highlands Community Church, at 36 Coach Bobby Dodd Rd, Dallas, GA, 30132, at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Marc’s name to the American Diabetes Association."

    From our grandmother, Linda Mears: I have a memory of Marc playing outside with the dog. He was about 21, but he and the dog were rolling on the ground and having a great time. He also loved and played with our dogs. Didn’t matter that they both, He and the dog, got muddy and dirty, they had a good time. LOL

  2. I remember Dad driving out to Carrollton from Austell for my 5th grade Daddy-Daughter dance at the school. He had recorded a song on a cassette tape – Little Heave by Toad the Wet Sprocket – and gave the tape to the DJ to play. That song always brought back sweet memories for us both.
