Margot Jordan

July 18, 1942 ~ February 25, 2021

Margot Marion Jordan was born on July 18th, 1942 to Euladine Padmore and Ormond Craigwell in Hothersal Turning St Michael Barbados. She spent her earliest years in Hindsbury Road with her six siblings, Dorothy Eastmond, the late Wingrove Padmore (Zeek), Margaret Best, Norman Padmore, Eric Padmore, and Sherole Padmore. A very big family in a small house and I always wonder where they all slept. Margot was a stay-at-home mom for her son Jeffrey during which time, she also cared for her sister Sherole’s two children at the time, Trevor and Kathyann. Margot, being the quiet, caring, and loving person she was, was always the person everyone turned to when they needed a babysitter, and she could never say no. Margot migrated to Brooklyn New York in 1976. Her love of taking care of others continued in her work, as a home caretaker, and eventually a health aide at a nursing home in Port Chester NY. During this time, she would come home every other weekend to spent time with the family, especially her late loving husband Derek Jordan (Dee), with whom she was happily married to for almost forty years. They remained by each other’s side until May 14th, 2020 when Derek passed away, and naturally Margot had a real difficult time going on without him, even with the love of her family around her. Her only son Jeffrey, living in Massachusetts, called her every day, often several times a day, especially once Dee was gone. After retiring, Margot and Derek migrated to Marietta Georgia in 2005 where they lived with her niece Kathyann Guishard, her husband Dave Guishard, and they children Khyla and Brenton Guishard. Khyla was a big part of Margo’s life, since she helped raise her. We joked that Margo came to Georgia because of Khyla. Margot also loved Brenton and was very protective of him. She was also very happy to have her sister Dorothy nearby. Margot was a great cook and was well known for her signature macaroni pie. Her family, friends, and her church members couldn’t get enough of it, and was sure to request at least a couple pans for every single function or event. Margot also leaves behind to mourn her passing her son Jeffrey Padmore, daughter-in-law Sandra Padmore, grandson Kyle Jeffrey Padmore, her siblings and several nieces and nephews and their children, along with many friends, especially her hairdresser/good friend Tina Johnson. Also, her niece Kathyann and family stayed by her side and took care of her until the end. Margot was a bright light in our lives, and it pains us all to see it go out so soon. She will be internally missed by the people she touched with her loving kindness. Please click here to attend the service livestream.

The one that still stand out in my mind was when we visited Shamoo the Whale at Sea World in San Diego. We also toured museums and the observatory in Los Angles. Every day when I return home from work, I was greeted with a delicious dinner that Margo prepared daily. On my visit to New York, Margo and I would watch the Golden Girls before retiring to bed. To this day when I see reruns of this TV shows it brings back wonderful memories of us staying up late in the evening, laughing, smiling and enjoying her favor show with each other. 19. Our hearts are truly broken as the Campbell family Regina (DeeDee), Chris and our 2 children Cj and Reina acknowledge this huge loss. My children have grown with the Guishard/Padmore family and Aunty Margo and Uncle Dee were the favorites. Every year my family visited Georgia. This was the favorite road trip. You would find the children get out of bed early and go downstairs to wake and talk to Aunty and Uncle. They loved her cooking. My husband loved it as well. Cj would ask for her Macaroni pie and anything her Cj wanted he got. She constantly showered Reina with hugs. Thank you for loving us for so many years Aunty. We will miss you. Your kind heart, soft voice and gentle soul. I’ve been in your family for over 35 years so this really hurts. Rest In Peace. Always love and miss you. The Campbell (Dee Dee)

  21. Known for your smile. The glowing flower sent to warm us Margo was her name. Her smiles were always present. Constant jokes in the family was her aim. With her you never had a frown, Margo was a pleasure to be around. We loved you then and we love you now. Gone but you’ll never be forgotten. Your Brother Norman & Sis-in-law Maxine.
