Martha Christine Atha

Martha Christine Atha, age 87, of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026. She was born on October 4, 1938, in Tyrone, Georgia.

Martha was the beloved daughter of Plymon and Berta Mae Houston. She was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Jones; her husband, Lonnie Atha; daughter, Patricia Goss; and great-granddaughter, Annabella Murphy.

Martha had a vibrant personality and a wonderful zest for life. She loved music and dancing. Her warmth, spirit, and the memories she created with those around her will be deeply missed.

She is survived by daughters, Cindi Mercer (Lloyd) of Hampton, GA, and Deborah Price of Jackson, GA.

Grandchildren: Shaun Weems (Amy), Christy Murphy (Mike), Lloyd Mercer Jr. (Chantal), Hope Gilroy (Jack), Wayne Morrow (Megan), Austin Lauer, and Dallas Lauer.

Great-grandchildren: Zoe Smith, Kaylie Weems, Leighonna Miller, Madison Murphy, Blakely Mercer, Ezra Mercer, Cardina Gilroy, Dakota Gilroy, Ethan Morrow, Evelyn Morrow, and Ellison Morrow.

Great-great-granddaughter: Naomi Smith.

She is also survived by beloved friends.

Viewing and service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Fairburn, GA.
