Mary Chester

July 21, 1934 ~ July 7, 2012

Mrs. Mary C. Chester age 77 of Jonesboro, GA passed away Saturday July 7th, 2012 at Sacred Journey Hospice in McDonough, GA. She was born in Douglasville, GA. Widow of the late James Curtis Chester Jr. She is the daughter of the late Ralph Campbell and Christine Rainwater. She retired from the Fulton County School System, having worked in a public school cafeteria. She was a member of First Baptist Church Jonesboro as well as a member of the Saints Alive, Red Hatters. She was the youngest of 13 children. Survivors include, Sons & Daughters in Law: Ronnie and Ginger Chester of McDonough, Curtis and Margaret Chester III of Stockbridge, Phillip and Andrea Chester of Panama City Beach, FL. Daughter & Son in Law: Patricia Chester and Newton Landrum of Marietta, GA. Grandchildren: Jason Chester, Crystal Chester-Howington, Allen Landrum, Jimmy Chester, Brannon Chester, Clifford Cagle, Christin Cagle, and Colby Chester. Great Grandchildren: Joseph Chester, Emily Chester, McKenzie Howington, Emily Floyd, Clayton Floyd, Kayle Smith. Mrs. Chester was preceded in death by Granddaughter, Christine Michelle (Chell Baby Chester). Funeral Services for Mrs. Chester will be held Tuesday July 10th, 2012 from the Chapel of Holly Hill Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.. Reverend Irvin Pearre, Chaplain Darren Chester, and Dr. Tommy Henschel will be officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family here at the funeral home on Monday July 9th, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. 8:00 P.M. We always looked forward to visiting Mary and sharing time with her and there was never enough time to say everything we wish to.We know she is with the Lord now no doubt. Our thoughs are with the family members left behind to grieve and we will be praying for strength and God’s comfort. Thank you all for allowing us to be part of her life.
