Melvin Jackson passed away August 16, 2020. Services entrusted to Southern Cremations and Funerals at Holly Hill. Melvin Jackson was born to the late Nellie Trimble and John Jackson on May 28,1947. Melvin had one sister, Carmita Yvonne Daniels. Melvin was a musician and song writer. He was extremely musically inclined. He played a plethora of instruments and never took a lesson; you name it, he could play it. In the era of the Spinners, his group opened for Motown artists. All his kids and grand-children inherited his talents. Melvin prayed a prayer that when he had to leave this earth that his legacy will be in his kids and grand-children and it is. Melvin leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Barbara Jackson, 4 children, Deboreia McQueen (Pupu), Ricky Jackson, Wendy Jackson, and Chartisia Griffin (Muffin), 12 grandchildren Darius Bolton, Latoiya Bolton, Travis Bolton, Kaila Jackson, Darion Griffin, Jeremy Griffin, Dunya Griffin, Tiffany Jackson, Jerome Jackson, Brandon Jackson, Crystal Jackson, Terrell Jackson and a host of relatives and friends.
