Michael Derek Griffith, of Jonesboro Georgia, passed away, and went to receive his reward in heaven on June 6th 2020.
He was born in Atlanta on June 6th 1977, and grew up, spending most of his childhood and adolescence in Stockbridge Georgia.
Derek worked as a glazer at Southeastern Glass & Glazing. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors.
He is survived by his father, Michael Griffith; mother, Terry Griffith; brother, Brad Griffith; sister, Shellie Ayers (Lance Ayers); nephews, Andrew Ayers and Caleb Ayers; nieces, Elizabeth Ayers and Leah Ayers; aunts, Patty Henderson and Dale Graham (Bill Graham); cousins, Beth McGuire, Julie Thomas and Marguerite Robbins (Larry Robbins).
He is preceded in death by Grandmother Mildred Bruce, and Grandfather Melvin Griffith.
He was a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin and uncle, and was a sweet soul who loved his family, and will be missed by all who knew him.

I didn’t know Michael, but he is related to one of my cousins by marriage, Shellie Ayers. I send my prayers and condolences to Michael’s family during this difficult time. RIP Michael.
Dereck was one of my FAVS! Known him since he was a little fellow. Always full of life and some mischief too! Our Kids were in Youth together at Stockbridge Assembly and Dereck worked with us in Children’s church. The kids loved Dereck as did all of us! He will truly be missed.
