In Loving Memory of Mickie Ruge
Mickie Ruge was born in Phoenix, Alabama. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was defined by her Christian faith, kindness, and deep devotion to her family.
Mickie was a twin and grew up with three sisters and one brother. She was the daughter of Barbara Thigpen and McCurdy Thigpen. She later worked as a data entry clerk in medical billing.
A devout Christian and beloved family matriarch, Mickie took great pride and joy in raising her two sons, Jonathan and Geoffrey. She taught them that loving and caring for others was the way of Jesus, and she lived by the words, “Love is patient, love is kind.” Her faith was a guiding light in her life, and the love she gave to her family was felt by all who knew her.
Mickie enjoyed playing cards, doing word searches, and participating in sports with her boys. As an avid sports mom, she treasured every opportunity to cheer for and spend time with her sons. She especially loved visiting the beach, where she enjoyed the water and sunshine.
Her greatest joys extended to her grandchildren. Watching Aeren, Londyn, and Josiah Ruge grow brought her immense happiness. Their laughter brought comfort and joy to her, even during her most difficult days.
Mickie leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Howard Ruge II; her sons, Jonathan Ruge and Geoffrey Ruge; her grandchildren, Aeren, Londyn, and Josiah Ruge; her sisters, Vickie, Schlechia, and Lynn; her brother, Rodger; along with nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Thigpen and McCurdy Thigpen.
Mickie will be remembered for her unwavering Christian faith, her gentle kindness, and her devotion to the people she loved. Raising her two boys was one of her greatest joys, and she instilled in them the importance of patience, kindness, love, and caring for others. Her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, family, and all those whose lives she touched.
