Milton H. East, , Jr.

Milton H. East, Jr., was born November 17, 1927 in St. Augustine, Florida to Milton H. East, Sr. And Leona M. East. He was raised in Savannah, Georgia and graduated from Benedictine Military School. After serving his country in the U.S. Navy, he became a skilled structural steel draftsman and settled in Jacksonville, Florida. On October 1, 1971 he married Joan Gambill and gained two daughters and two sons. He loved her until the were parted by death. Milton loved the Lord and often served food to the homeless. He was a man of compassion and many interests including music, fishing, woodworking and driving through the mountains. He will be greatly missed by his wife Joan and his family, Catherine Sutton, Marie Pearce (Sid), Rick East (Donna), and Russ Gambill (Shawna) and his treasured 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. We are only saying a brief goodbye to our Poppy till we see him again. We are grateful to Halcyon Hospice of Atlanta and to his nurses for excellent care. Arrangements were handled by Southern Cremations & Funerals at Cheatham Hill. He will be interned in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia on June 12, 2015 at 1:00 pm.
