Mr. Jerry Wayne Walker

November 16, 1943 ~ June 5, 2017

Mr. Jerry Wayne Walker, 73, of Smyrna, GA, entered his heavenly home on June 5, 2017, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Anniston AL, to the late Benny and Idell Walker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Troy Walker, Garland Walker and Larry Walker. He was raised in Hokes Bluff, AL. Jerry exemplified hard work, character and integrity in every aspect of his life. He was a self-employed contractor in construction. He was a "jack of all trades" and would help anyone. He loved his family and friends tremendously. Jerry was a member of Highest Praise Church of God. He loved singing in the choir and worshiping his Lord! He is survived by his lovely wife of 53 years, Peggy Pittman Walker; son and daughter-in-law, Michael & Julia Walker of Tallapoosa, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Gary & Debbie Walker of Dallas, GA; granddaughters, Kayla (Colton) Strickland, Hannah Walker & Meagan Walker, great grandchildren, Levi & Lilly Strickland and his sister and brother-in-law, Sandra & Edward Croft of Gadsden, AL; and many nieces & nephews. Family will receive visitors on Friday June 9, 2017 from 5-8 pm. Funeral services will be held June 10, 2017 at 12 pm at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park located at: 1861 Dallas Hwy Marietta, GA 30064. Visitation & funeral are both held at the same location. The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to all of those who have offered prayers and support during this difficult time.
